The most glaring incongruity with Wall E is that, thanks to our society's shallow-yet-scientifically-luc­rative priorities, the cure for obesity and weight gain will be discovered far before intergalactic space travel or AI.

Finally, obesity will be forever looked down upon until we are ready to give up on the notion of free will- I'm not ready.
