Before seeing the movie, I had read in reviews that the humans in the movie were portrayed as so obese they couldn't walk. I was very curious to see how they would be physically portrayed.

They looked more like Weebles that I played with when I was little, not disgusting mounds of flesh. I thought it was handled tastefully. Their shape made it difficult for them to get around in any way that conflicted with the mindless, effortless lifestyle they were accustomed to.

Two of the "obese" humans even fall in love by the end of the movie! I think that's more grace than most movies allow heavy people. We're shown that yeah, they have allowed themselves to be sucked into a brainless way of living, but they can still love and be loved and ultimately be redeemed. How many live action movies - other than comedies - show two heavy people engaged in a romantic relationship? Very few.
