I think Prudie was a little too quick to dismiss the desire for medical history. It's easy to say "oh, you never find out anything important", except when you DO. I'm adopted, and I recently had an illness that's linked to family history. It took me years to get it diagnosed properly. Maybe that would have happened even if I'd known my medical history, but every doctor asked me if I had a family history of it (I said I had no idea).

Maybe that's not enough to upset everyone's families, but I think people who HAVE their family medical history don't know how difficult it can be NOT to have it.
