You're right, it's not just a 'bad joke' as some try to pass it off, and it's even been said he didn't mean 'the Iranian people' he meant the government. He said "Maybe that's a way of killing them". There was no reference to their goverment and I'd want a President to not only be a better thinker than to insult that country, and it's people, off the cuff, I'd want someone who hasn't already decided it's ok to kill the Iranians. It's not funny, worse than sick, and an illustration of the worst kind of person to have in the office. Like the one we have now.
