I cannot fathom the depth of selfishness and nastiness this woman seems to have. It's mind boggling how she can complain that his worst traits are "scratching his armpit at a teachers conference and smelling his fingers." Oh GOD! What abuse! What depravity! And I am certain YOU are just the beacon of ideal, an angel, a goddess, with no faults or embarrassing tendencies of your own!

I've grown to hate American "upper class" culture, with money to burn and "toned arms." You should always strive to be happy-but we can't be happy 100% of the time. Just because I don't have my ideal job doesn't mean I can't love the job I have right now. It has its ups and downs-everything does. What Cloud 9 are these people living on that they think they can be content with every single aspect of their lives every second of every day?

To answer your question, I don't think most wives hate their husbands, if they're reasonable people. They may hate them occassionally, they may complain about them (because people love to complain) but I think most people recognize that marriages are difficult, and falling short of the ideal is not tantamount to the world ending. Only naive navel-gazers who refuse to ackowledge that they THEMSELVES are not an ideal would hate a husband for some minor human infractions.
