That is a truly terrible story and I am sorry that you or anyone has to suffer it. I do not, though, see any poster here who is supporting tacit or explicit child abuse as you put it. The fact that this is occuring in this case is self evident.

People who need help are often the last to know or to seek it. Help has to be offered over and over and over. That's reality too. Over and over and over, back to the crisis centre back together, back to rehab. It needs to be offered over and over. Even if it is frustrating and infuritating. The story is not written till it's over and even if there are diminishing returns as time goes on, there are some.

If someone was about to jump off the ledge with a child or pull the pin on a grenade, wouldn't we try to coax them off the ledge? Or, would we just say "hey, you're dead already your morons?"
