He just happened to break open the doors of what it means to be a man, because of the circumstances under which he became one (much longer after birth than most). So he's a man with a uterus, so what? I do love watching everyone panic, trying to hang the definition of femininity on pregnancy, and the definition of masculinity on the inability, because it crashes their cosmology to think otherwise.
