Unfortunately, my cynical brain wants to know: is he really trying to educate? I think he wants a book deal and some fame as much as he wants acceptance and hugs.

If he wanted people not to hassle him about his reproductive choices, he would not have gone on national TV. Most people get hassled about their baby-making equipment at one point or another. I had an abortion when I was a teenager; hassling assholes with gruesome signs outside the clinic. Now, I am married, and my big Irish family can't accept that I don't want to spend my youth pumping out kids.

So, having dealt first-hand with the Pro-Life "babykiller!!!" crowd, I have some sympathy for the guy's hassles. Not a lot, because I would not be fool enough to go on TV and tell the world "hi, I'm Freki O'Shewolf, I live in **** county, and I just had an abortion!"

That would get me death threats and overbearing religious wackos. Duh.
