You're right, Dan_O. Hitchens does seem to be at his grouchiest--and best--when he writes obits. I have no real interest in Helms himself, but really, what kind of message does it send to sugarcoat his life and excuse his actions? Yes, Hitchens is harsh, rude, and unapologetic, but that doesn't mean he's wrong.
