Hmm... ouch. That's on point.

If you ask me, if an ex-State official tried to jail someone for having an abortion they would be an ex-State official. This determined by using common sense and natural law, notwithstanding anything.

What I have actually seen is a Pro-life Judge issue an injunction and then deliberately drag his feet and delay ruling so a very young minor who wanted an abortion didn't get it. I don't recall if he was voted out the next time he went up for election.

If I vote for or support something, I must be responsible for what I am causing.

Our government does lots of stupid things I don't support, and it's often the result of stupid people making stupid choices. Problem is I don't have the ability, authority, or desire to try to make other people live the lives I think they should be living. Even if I did have those I doubt it would work well, I can barely manage my own life.

I don't like the idea of abortions in general, but allowing them appears to be the most palletable of the options actually available.

IMHO most "pro-life" people don't *really* want the forced servitude of women or the execution/jailing of women who have illegal abortions (that's what we do with murderers). What they want is for the Gov to wave a magic wand and make everyone believe what they do and to voluntarily stop having abortions.

I've been married too long to believe people will do or think what I want them to just because I'm right. If I can't do that with someone who loves and respects me, how can I expect the Gov to do it for everyone?
