If Senator Clinton had been designated as the presumptuous nominee, General Clarks' response would probably have been spoken a little bit differently.
However the MSM appears to have blown up his remark past all common sense, as General Clark had a simple point to make...that "riding [flying] a jet does not necessarily qualify one to be President..."...and that the key word is "qualification" in which he continued to point out that the "qualification to have good judgement ..." was a necessary characteristic in which he indicated that Obama had such a characteristic.
Simple as it may seem, General Clark probably was immediately aware that to even make any kind of a remark about anything that had to do with Senator McCain's military experience as not necessarily being a "qualification...... for being President", would get him into hot water in one way or the other.
How, precisely, he could only guess at, but the outcome was probably a sure thing. That is why in subsequent interviews he stuck to his initial statement and grounds for his comment.
Thanks for responding.
