That does nothing to support abortion on demand which is the law in the US
and is based on the falsehood that the unborn child has no rights.
Of
course the unborn have rights. I can be
charged with murder or something if I beat up a pregnant woman and she
miscarries. That’s the right to
live. The issue is what happens if the
pregnant woman doesn’t want to go through with it.
Let’s
strip this of the emotional overtones. *You*
have rights. But if you need my kidney
so bad you’ll die without it, sorry, you’re going to die. Also similarly, I can agree to give up one of
my kidneys and change my mind before the kidney is in your body. You needing me doesn’t give you the right to
force my help.
have the right to abortion in the case that the pregnancy places her health
at risk then fine - when it comes time for arguing exclusions to the laws that
ban abortions you'll find a sympathetic ear with me.
Successful
pregnancy is *very* stressful and is considered major surgery even without complications. I’ve watched my
wife go through it several times and I’ve seen the toll it’s taken. It’s a seriously big deal.
And
Des is correct, abortion is *much* less stressful on the body. Early enough and it’s not major surgery. That should give you a big hint right there
as too which is more dangerous. If you
want a quote, here's wiki… “Early-term surgical abortion is a simple procedure which
is safer than childbirth…” <link>
