Re: American patriotism
by bananaboat

Their perceived lack of patriotism stems from their idealized view of the world and their obvious distain for the values and standards that this country was built on. They’re constantly attempting to rewrite history and add shades of gray to ideas that were intended to be black or white. If you express hatred for your country it is only natural to assume that you do indeed hate your country. If you side with the enemy by saying things that you know will bolster their morale or crying for their dead then it is only natural to consider you a traitor.

Patriotism is indeed defined as a love and loyalty to one’s country, right or wrong. If you’re country is right then you support her fully and if she’s wrong then you withhold your support. What you do not do is turn your coat by supporting the enemy. If you do then the guns will be turned on you and rightly so.

If a group, party, or organization is actively tearing down the country while bolstering the morale of the enemy (as a large percentage of the Democratic Party has done since the late 1950’s) then it only natural to question their loyalty.

Believing that the United States is way too capitalistic, militaristic, enamored with the gun culture, and focuses way too much on the individual is extremely ignorant and naïve, but it is their right to believe this. Personally I believe that only a communist would have a problem with capitalism, only the weak would have a problem with having a strong and active military, and that the left is far more concerned with me-ism than the right ever has.

The vast majority of us do not consider these weak kneed, limp wristed, and spineless liberals as patriotic because we pay attention to what they say and what they do. We know that if and when the shit hits the fan that we will not be able to count on them. They will run, hide, cry, cower, and blame their own country every time. We do not expect bravery, honor, respect, dignity, grace, talent, loyalty, or patriotism from them.

If the Republican Party were to become extinct the United States would turn into something resembling the Soviet Union or China until it eventually caved in on itself. It is the balance of having the conservatives and Republicans holding the country together against the liberals and Democrats trying to tear it apart that has kept us going. If the Democratic Party were to become extinct we would be a far more moral and stable country.

The Democrats that believe that we should start acting like other countries have no clue as to what life is like outside the United States. They whine and complain about what the consider faults in this country without realizing how bad it is elsewhere. France is a mess and you could not pay me to live there.

Anyone that believes that the United States is a quasi-fascist state has no clue as to what real fascism is. They’re simply talking out of their ass and it the duty of the rest of us to point at them and laugh before we eventually simply walk away shaking our heads. Such fools should be scorned.
