Several years ago, people were talking on cell phones everywhere because it was new to them and they were fascinated with the idea. They talked on cell phones just because they knew they could, or to show out in front of other people. Now that cell phones have been out for awhile and the fascination with them has died down, people are equally bemused by text messaging, which is still fairly new. They text just because they know they can, and they are fascinated by the new idea. However, we should consider the rudeness of text messaging and of talking on the phone while we are in the company of other people.
