The politics of personal destruction were used against the Clintons. I didn't vote for Bill as I was a republican back then. I remember the attacks on Clinton for Gennifer Flowers and other rumors of his infidelities. It was only when Perot came into the campaign that it became about the national debt and not Clinton's personal life.
