Re: Nothing More UnAmerican Than The Pledge of Allegiance
by TruettCollins
The flag it's self is a peice of colored cloth, where as what it represents is this Nation, the Bill of rights, and each and every indivual who makes up this nation. You see there are many out there who want to enjoy the fruits of citizenship without tending to the tree of liberty. The as the poet said want to Eat from orchards they did not plant, dring from wells they did not dig, reap from fields they did not sow, be warmed by fires they did not kindle, be sheltered by roofs they did not build, and be blessed by moneys they did not give. Instead of being thankful for the blessings they enjoy by being a citizen, they want to know what the nation can do for them. If you have a problem pledging to support this nation that is your problem till the point you attack those who support this nation day in and day out. Now I am not saying to roll over and play dead, what I am saying is support the nation when right, and when wrong support it by working to change things. In other words stop setting on your dead ass and get up and do something beside bitch.
