John Kerry was a genuine war hero. He also effectively spoke truth to power which is why the Republican scum hate him so much.

John McCain was a war criminal who was caught and punished.

Reagan was a war criminal who was neither caught nor punished. Its difficult to believe that there could be a worse president in the modern era (after 1930) but Dubya has cinched that position. Now its difficult to find anyone in the administration who is not tainted. Its like Nuremburg in 1946. I suppose, like then, a few of the economic advisers have a reasonable defense.
