Another excellent post, but I have to say that as a lawyer, I strongly agree with Obama's positions on the Supreme Court decisions. I think that it is gross historic revisionism to read the Second Amendment in any way other than to grant individual rights. I also think that the reasoning in the child rape decision is the correct reasoning -- that the rule should be based on a national political consensus about what punishments are disproportionate -- but the Court misread the political reality of our nation and, as a result, made the wrond decision.
