Correlation does not equal causation

This article tries to argue that because a movie receives good reviews by critics that it will make more money, but doesn’t actually make this case for critics causing the increase in revenues, rather it just shows a correlation between the two.

Instead, examine it from the perspective that good movies make more money, and also tend to get better reviews. Better reviews do not necessarily mean more money for the movie. Just because good reviews tend to correlate with movies that make more money on average that does not mean the good reviews caused the increase in earnings.
