What if the boss really means "duplicitous"?

The best thing to do is casually inquire. If the boss says, "that whole thing is duplicitous," and you think he means duplicative, then ask, "do you mean that whole thing is deceptive in some way?"

That way you're not correcting the boss, you're correcting the accuracy statement.
