Nah -- it's okay and has a few laughs, but it's not a patch on the TV series. It's trying more to be an action movie than a comedy spoof. In fact, it's a flim-flam bc anyone expecting to see Get Smart beyond a few chatchphrases and character profiles may feel cheated.

That loveable old ham Stamp (just rent Far from the Madding Crowd if anyone doesn't understand his long-lost magnetic screen personality, tho The Limey was fun) is not Siegfried's bootlace, tho Bernie Kopell's brief cameo is a highlight.

Smart: Chief, I want that assignment.

Chief: It's extremely dangerous, Max.

Smart: I laff in the face of danger!

Chief: They may kill you.

Smart: (beat) Well, you laff a little, you cry a little.

Female Villian: (incredulous) I kissed you! You're supposed to be dead! What saved you?

Smart: (ripping sound) Plastic lips! Thanks to the boys in the lab I can kiss and tell.
