You are definitely hypersensitive. And yes, people who call you eerily normal, are calling you weird. If they weren't, they'd just call you normal.

Ah, I knew you'd comment on the "eerily" normal comment and also say that I AM hypersensitive. Actually, I am sensitive to insults. I've never denied that nor was it the topic of this thread. This thread was about people being offended by other people actually having a life outside of a conversation. What I'm not is sensitive to someone ELSE'S distractions; that's probably the best way to describe it. And that's not weird. It just is.

By the way, do you typically insult people to their faces too, or only when you're hidden by the safety of Internet anonymity?

And don't tell me what other people "meant" to say when you weren't even privy to the conversation. That's pretty arrogant. (You notice I said "that" is arrogant, not "you" because while your statement was arrogant, I don't know you to know whether or not you are arrogant on a whole.) So wow, that's pretty impressive deduction on your part--first you label me, a stranger, and then you speak for a person who you've not only never laid eyes on, but who also have never communicated to you in any way. Hey, while you're at it, since you know exactly what she was saying--what were we joking about when she made that comment? What's her name? Where did the conversation take place? When?

Perhaps you and I define "offend" differently. Would I get tired of it if someone was talking constantly on the phone in front of me? Perhaps. Would I take it as a personal insult? Hardly. Taking something as a personal insult is "offended." I've grown far beyond taking someone else's social quirks as a personal offense. Whether you like it or not.
