He's still doing surprisingly well, NFP, thanks for asking. He was able to sit up in his chair in the living room for about 10 hours yesterday. We didn't expect him to last past the first week of June, at the latest, he was fading so fast. But when my wife suggested baby food, she added a lot more time for him. The first day we tried giving him baby food, he was full after two teaspoonfuls. His stomach had shrunk that much, and he had no energy. He was basically stuck with broth, soup, juice, pudding, and jello. Not a very appetizing diet. The baby food allowed him to have peaches, bananas, green beans, and several other fruits and veggies.
Now, he puts away 2 containers of baby food, plus a bowl of gravy (suggested by my nephew's wife). He's actually put on a little weight.
We know the lung and heart damage, combined with the cancer, is still going to take him from us, sooner than any of us had expected, but at least he's in good spirits most of the time. He gets confused sometimes, and he's having a hard time remembering some of the stories he used to tell us from when he was a boy.
And thank you for the prayers. And that goes for everyone who's praying, thinking good thoughts, or sending positive energy his way. I truly think that it's helped, even if it is just the power of suggestion. It's certainly helped to keep his spirits up.
