Luckily for me I live in a pretty small town and the law enforcement folks are really lovely!

Taking a few minutes out of his day to talk to me and to check out our neighborhood didn't seem to put this Deputy off too much!

I'm not imputing anything global to my own personal responses to this -- not that you'd pick this up in what I wrote.

Being home alone this week, in a fairly rural setting it just made me feel better to reach out and know that there is a safety net around my personal space -- like it or not I *like* that.

This is the kind of thing that makes me feel safe - local law enforcement keeping a friendly eye out on old folks. Much safer than the Security Goons at the airports and the Iraqi invasion to seize Weapons of Mass Destruction.
