Who Cares about Campaign Finance?
by DamienD

I sorta agree that in that personal sense that Obama's "flip flop" was worse, but I think it's something people care a lot less about. So in the end will not have nearly the same affect as McCain's.

No one is going into the polls worrying about campaign finance reform. I am willing to bet it won't be the deciding factor for anyone's voting. I also think that him banning lobbyists from donating both to him and the DNC also will minimize the damage. I think McCain's flip flopping that actually affects the issues people are voting for. When people and his staff point to McCain as being different on the environment than Bush, then see him flipping towards Bush that makes an affect. I feel like again too that environmental issues are bigger than campaign finance reform.

I also think that people have been thinking, talking, about Obama's flip for a while now, I kind of already assumed it had happened. I think that time lapse too means that much of the "shock" of the change has faded.

Now what I believe will be seen as a huge flip flop, which makes me unsure why he's doing it, is Obama's support of the new FISA bill. That's what hurts, when you see your candidate renege on the actually issues he's running on.
