Your position has no merit unless you consider the bible over the constitution, which we thankfully do not do. It is THE LAW that abortion and birth control pills are legal and therefore their use is never considered murder. You and PFL can choose to re-interpret the law however you want, but it is still the law and you are breaking the law by preventing women from obtaining these legal drugs. Murder is not up for interpretation, it is the willful death of a person, and the LAW dictates what is a person, and a non-viable fetus is not one. If you want to change that then get the LAW rewritten. Until then, you can't block people's access because you disagree.
The pharmacist's metaphysical choice? Are you kidding? What next, are we limiting the drug dealer's choice by preventing him from selling his drug of choice? Are we preventing a drunk driver from exercising his choice to protest DUI laws? Are we preventing pedophiles from exercising their right to have sex with children or possess kiddie porn? Are we preventing the prostitute from rightfully selling her body (outside of NV)? Yes, we all have free will to choose to do or not do whatever we want, that doesn't make it right or legal, and in this case it's neither.
Saying this is only considered a personal decision because I disagree with it is assinine. The drugs are medically safe and approved for their purposes, so any decision to BLOCK access to the drugs is a personal decision. Period. You and PFL may not see it that way, but ignorance is not a valid defense. And only a MEDICAL reason should be valid in a pharmacist's decision to not dispense a drug.
As for Dr's refusing to perform abortion, that IS their right PROVIDED they also make sure the patient gets someone else to perform the procedure. Anyway, Dr's are highly specialized and can choose to or not to perform all kinds of procedures. The pharmacist is NOT specialized. He dispenses all drugs that the prescription asks for, and the only time he should question that is if there is a potential cross reaction that the Dr missed, not to pass MORAL judgement on someone. And as far as I know there is no onus on the pharmacist to provide an alternative source if he doesn't want to provide those drugs.
The bottom line is this. You and PF"L" are pro-life and I and the LAW are not. I agree it sucks to be on the wrong side of the law, but this isn't the way to change it. PF"L" is overstepping their authority, which is dangerous in many professions, but especially in this case as it illegally forces a woman to do have child. No one has a right to do that. No one. And their stance is doing just that. Imposing THEIR views on others and FORCING them to either get pregnant or keep a pregnancy. This isn't about forcing the pharmacist to do anything, this is about the pharmacist imposing their metaphysical views on women. Just as you can't block access to abortion clinics, kill abortion Drs or bomb the factory that makes the drugs, you can't prevent women from getting access to legal drugs. You want abortion and birth control to be illegal then get the law changed. Since that will NEVER HAPPEN, you and PF"L" need to come to grips with reality, that people will do LEGAL things you don't agree with and it is NOT your right to stop them "for their own good". Sorry, but that's just how it will always be and the sooner you and PF"L" come to grips with that the sooner we can all move forward.
