Re: Religion and Communication Problems

According to your mythology it was destroyed for the inhospitable way they treated people, for being selfish and unconcerned with any but themselves, etc..

I think it funny that you claim this is my mythology when I have clearly stated that in my beliefs Sodom was guilty of every kind of sexual abomination. You seem to be assuming that all Christians believe the same, and all use the same scriptures.

"Now this was the sin of Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy. They were haughty and did detestable things before me. Therefore I did away with them as you have seen."

I do not know what you are quoting, but it sounds like the NIV which I do not read, and do not believe in. I base my belief on these verses in the Bible:

Genesis 19: 4-5 But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter: And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them. The term to know them means to have sexual relations with them, thus showing a homosexual desire of these men.

Isaiah 3: 9 9 The shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves. This shows the blatant manner in which they engaged in these acts.

Jude 1: 7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornicaiton, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengence of eternal fire. This shows that it was for their sexual sins, including homosexuality (strange flesh) that they were destroyed and made an example of.

So, according to what you would call "My Mythology" they were guilty of all manner of sexual sins, for which they were destroyed, among which was homosexuallity.
