I will modify what I have said, as I have looked into it more.

There are no definite references to Christ outside the Christian world. He has been established as a hstorical figure based on other motheds (but there is still a contraversy on this point). The motheds used were taking the records of the Bible and other Christian writters and comparing them to what is known about the time period. When taken with other accounts the story of Jesus as a Jewish religious leader is established as historical.

There are those who disagree, but then some actually disagree that Julius Ceasar really existed. (I would also say that no religious leader that lived before the time of Jesus is proven to exist, and few Non-Christians afterwards are proven to exist.)

My original point when I joined this particular thread was that a belief that Jesus of Nazereth, the religious leader, existed was no more absurd than a belief in aliens. I have mispoken in giving evidence for this, but let us return to my original point.
