Odd as it is, I like this because it reminds of David Antin's talk poems, as in this selection from tuning. Have you read him? His poems are quite literally edited transcriptions of talks he's given , sustained by Antin's copious readings of diverse materials--literature, art, architecture, dance, philosophy--and his broad experience-and his skill for being able to deliver a coherent spontaneous discourse. His poems aren't for everyone. I like the flow of this monologue, and enjoyed the way one thing conflates with another, the play on the consonant "e", the near rhymes of Hemingway and Emily, the related and distracted points of how some poets left the earthly plain. You're developing your ear voice, and that's a solid thing to do. Keep it up.
