Re: Get a Job
by Jen13

Thanks for this post! I am now a SAHM (stay at home mom) of two, soon to be three, mainly because I really want to be the one taking care of the kids I chose to bear, but also because otherwise my whole paycheck would pay for daycare. My husband and I planned for this for years, I had always worked previously (and went to school and all those other things). We have had to make sacrifices and we sure as hell aren't wealthy, but it is what is working best for us. Once my kids are older, I have every intention of going back to work, albeit with a career change.

I don't know very many SAHMs. I don't know any that never worked, or had the expectation that a husband would just take care of them automatically. That's absurd. The ranks of stay at home dads are on the rise. It's not an easy choice to make for either gender, but for those of us who can manage to make it work, why should it be a negative?
