In the Italian countryside of Tuscony, my wife and I discovered that driving is a two person sport. The Italians have maps, yes, and the roads even have numbers, as do ours. Soooo, get on route 5 and go north. But the Italians rarely put numbers on their road signs. In the small towns at the roundabouts, there are stakes with sometimes dozens of pointers. Sometimes they tell you the next major town down a road, sometimes they tell you the next town down the road, sometimes they tell you a business down the road, sometimes they give no information at all about a road. As you circle the roundabout, avoiding the locals that know where they are going, my wife had to speed read all those pointers and coordinate with her map and then yell out, turn here! Then on to the next roundabout where it was all repeated.
This is fun!
