You are exactly right. Obama has nice leads in the Clinton swingstates (Ohio, Florida and Pennsylvania). He is doing better than Kerry there -- and hopefully this will continue to November. (He will slide back a bit -- but hopefully not too much -- although I will not hold my breath about either Ohio or Florida). He continues to gain ground in his new swing states, especially in the west. A large part of this is that he is doing better among hispanic voters than either Kerry or Gore did at this stage in their respective races. This is big news -- and it should cause all Democrats to breathe a sigh of relief. Hispanic voters will not forget the blatant racism down the Republican ticket, even if McCain cannot personally be painted with that brush.
