I've never understood what it is which grown adults who are completely blind to their own repulsive eating habits! I've seen this before (thankfully my own family isn't too bad.) But honestly, I worked with a woman once who would start full-blown conversations with a full mouth of chewed up food. I worked with a man once who, upon several burps after lunch, would announce with them "I'm burping up my lunch!" Loud slurpers, gulpers (hint; if you're gulping loudly as you swallow you are likely taking in too much air and the result will be excessive belching!), crunchers, smackers, dribblers, a man who attacks his daily lunch like he's been stranded in a cave for weeks, spitters, a woman who picks her teeth with her fingernails constantly after a meal, etc., etc,....and these are all adults!
Now I'm not saying we all have to eat like we are in the presense of royalty, but I'm always amazed at the lack of self-awareness of people with the absolute worst eating habits. And as for needing to be told...cmon, do you REALLY need to be told? Seems like not eating like a famished elephant would be more on a level of common sense than anything else.
Perhaps this woman should make him eat in front of a mirror at least once. I've read that people eat less, and more refined, when they can see themselves. Hey, it's worth a shot!
