And for the record, I do think it is misandrist in a mild sort of way, if only because Slate would never have had the guts to start up a similar "Y Factor" instead, which shows a decided lack of equal treatment/consideration, if true
My point in the byline count was one that you apparently do not considered valid, I suppose. I was trying to say that most of the articles linked are written by guys, which, altho not written expressly as 'men's take' on things, makes most of the site like an 'XY Factor' to me. (Kinda like when ppl where I live complaint about Black Expo and say, "Well, there is no White Expo, and the blacks would scream 'discrinination!' if there were." To which I say, "No, there is a White Expo. It lasts from January 1st thru December 31st every year." Doesnt win me too many friends...)
I think the idea is to give a forum to some women to comment on things that other women (and perhaps some men) may find interesting and thought-provoking. If you view that as fluff, fine, but The XX Factor is the #1 reason I come to Slate, and I pretty much feel the same way about the sports columns and many of the other features, which seem pretty male-oriented to me, as you do about The XX Factor.
I still dont understand why you need to 'give up on Slate' just because of the existence of The XX Factor? Cant you just read all the stuff that you *do* like and ignore it?
