Tim Russert was a very good journalist, but like every other journalist who had influence, he failed to adequately question Bush's reason for going to war. So we got a war. And when it was re-election time, he didn't see a burning need to hold Bush & co. accountable for a war which had been based on false reasons, so we got four more years of Bush.

Whether they die tomorrow or fifty years from now, those two facts should be appended to the obituaries of every major journalist who has worked in national news during the last eight years.
