Gee, I'm not really a member of any list unless being an "older white woman" counts for anything which I doubt except inasmuch as I can't stop laughing either. Probably the reason I never joined the "femist" movement is that we women are supposed to support all women no matter how lackluster or dishonest or unqualified simply because they're women. And this I submit means that such women are cutting off their noses to spite their faces. Give me a good quality woman of any age or race, any old day, and I'll vote for her.
Hill simply wasn't of that quality. She lost this race because 6 out of 10 people don't like/trust her, because of her sense of entitlement (note that AWFUL Tuesday night speech AFTER Obama had won), because of her race-baiting, because of her mispeaks (okay, I'll go there: lies), and because birds of a feather flock together and her staff, chosen by her, were some kinda of birds (Wolfson anyone).
This race was hers to lose and lose she did. She had the money, name recognition (ah, those coattails -- does anyone on Emily's List think for one minute that we'd even be talking about this woman if her last name was Smith or Jones instead of Clinton?), and she had two other Clintons to help, oh, and all those femist movers and shakers (almost forgot them). Me thinks her whiny supporters, you know those who claim sexism without any regard for Hill's behavior during the campaign, should form a support group and call it appropriately: The Clinton Stepford Wives. Yep, I like it!!
Hitchens, you sure got it right this time.
