Here is the thing about the $5 coffee.

A business analyst here makes $90k.

A business analyst in spain makes Eu28k to Eu30k.

So that means.. omg! They have to work about the same amount of time to buy the cup of coffee as you.

In my experience, that's been true for the last 15 years.

If a bottle of scotch is "X" then it will be priced accordingly in whatever the local currency is. Where you save money is when you get closer to the production location (so lower transport costs built in).
