Middleview...you are still at it...OBama and Clinton are politicians-BOTH have said and done things that are less than perfect. My question is why do Obama supporters forget that there is tit for tat? Why do they not acknowlege his flaws?
Since this discussion started with the infamous sniperfire incident that you raised..There were two speeches by Wright on UTUBE, and in one Wright speaks about Isreal and The Catholic church... and Romans(Italians) in a hateful way. Michelle Obama says "First time in her adult life that she is proud to be an American" in reference to Obama's nomination at a talk on race relations... Fr. PFleger gives that digusting speech at TRINITY last month. Obama went to the church and has very close ties to pflager...In March when the Jeremiah Wright UTUBE clip came out Obama said "he was surprised...this is not the man I knew, he was a mentor and like a member of my family. Then came the televised speech and talks in Washington-still the same divisive rhetoric, and only then, did he end his relationship with Wright.Only after Pfleger, did he end his connection with Trinity? 20 years in the pulpits and 20 years to the collection plate-listening to divisive rhetoric.20 years that he, Michelle and then their daughts were preached "Black Liberation theology".. , that by all accounts is the norm for THIS church...
This suggests to me and millions of others that Obama :
1. willingly listened and supported Wright for 20 years and quit only because of the effect the church was having on his campaign...ie you don't belong to a church for 20 yrs and donate to the plate if you don't share the values and beliefs of that church...
2. That In using comments about "bitter, white blue..." and racist, stereotypical comments about his "white grandmother" that there are beliefs about whites in general that should never have been part of his campaign..are in part, or entirely supported by his years of sitting in the pews at Trinity...
3. If he couldn't see this coming than his judgement is in question. Either by going to this church for 20 years and not leaving the church years ago or by being so naieve to not know that Wright and Pflager would come under scrutiny...The two of them have been giving divisive speeches for years.
As for NAFTA -Obama gave a speech in Ohio-Strongly criticzing the North American free Trade agreement. When, both the Canadian Ambasador to the United states and the Canadian Consulate General in Chicago expressed concern on behalf of the Canadian government (Prime Minister Harper) there was a memorandum and a meeting that took place where the Canadian representatives to the Canadian government were told this was more a case of "political positioning" and this was on the Canadian News...I live in BC. It was clear in the clip and the interview with the Canadian Ambassador that in his discussions with Obama's Campaign that this was "political positioning"...then came the spin from the Obama campaign when the news in Canada came to the attention of the American press...Did you mean it or not Barack? If you didn't mean what you said in Ohio...then why say it?...and If you did mean it then this was a pretty irresponsible position to take with respect to Canada so early in the democratic primaries....
To me as a voter, this boils down to inexperience and judgement problems-there are only two of the 10 reasons that I am not comfortable with Obama...see post on thread "Why are Hilliary supporters so self centred" and other posts here. I believe, that for all her warts, mistakes and "baggage" Hilliary is the right candidate to put change into action...her political power...the way politics are played in Washington and the suspicians that I have about the wealthy supporters behind Obama in relation to his inexperience and problems. Obama is a marketing ploy for other interests-he will not yeild the personal power to make his campaign power come true...the waelthy support the candidates that keep them wealthy....Its very different than the politics of Lincoln's time or even JFK....new Capitalism.
