Another red herring: school vouchers.

Theoretically, this would allow parents to send their children where they think they can get the best education. In practice, this cannot work. As it stands, with NCLB, only 3% of those eligible to leave failing neighborhood schools do so. great for them, even worse for the children actually left behind. Once more, we're governing by platitude rather than pragmatism.

Suggestion: check the credentials of the talk show gabbers foisting this on us in lieu of a real solution. What you'll find is a position based on personal agenda buttressed by selected "facts" and biased opinion.
