Is Sen. Obama going to be held hostage by the HRC and her supporters because she lost the race fair and square? - without all that convoluted math about her winning the most popular votes - I am still scratching my head over that ploy and how anyone would fall for that.
I am a 59 year old white female accountant and I could just never get into the HRC campaign, as much as I tried. I had no complaints about Bill's reign ( I felt the Monica thing was between him and HRC ), but I felt she was just running on his coattails. The continual misspeaks, flip flops, trying to change the rules after you had already agreed with all the other Democratic presidential candidates that MI and FL would not count and then trying to manipulate the public by claiming that Sen. Obama had voluntarily removed his name from the MI ballot, then trying to rally around feminisim toward the end of the race because of perceived sexist treatment. Once you have given your word ( in this case the FL and MI races ) that should be your Bible. The BIG point for me and it should be "for all those hard working white people" is that she went back on her word. Where I come from, if you can't keep your word, then there is nothing else to consider.
Sorry, but to me HRC has wayyyy toooo mannnyyyy negatives. I wouldn't consider her for dogcatcher. HOW YOU PLAY THE GAME IS JUST AS IMPORTANT AS WHETHER YOU WON OR LOST. And as for women voting for another woman just because she belongs to the same gender - that's another lengthy discussion.
And HRC has accomplished exactly what during her years as a Senator? Major legislation, committees, etc. ???
And for all the HRC supporters that will hit me with Sen. Obama's qualifications - he voted NO for the Iraq war - that was probably NOT the popular thing to do, but he stuck to his principles and did the right thing. Also, I have been impressed with his website and how everything has been sssooooo organized throughout his campaign. ( I have worked on MANY campaigns and Sen. Obama's organization was truly impressive to me ) If we can translate the organization of the Obama campaign to the US govt., the efficiency alone would save us millions. Money - the only money he has accepted has been from MILLIONS of donors for small amounts and he has ended the primary campaigns with plenty of money in the bank. GOOD FISCAL MANAGEMENT AND POLICIES. HRC ended her campaign with how much debt ? ? That should be a big deal to not only an accountant but to all US voters - particularly with the fact that BUSH has run up debt that GOD only knows how we will pay for it.
Sorry, but on my balance sheet HRC has compiled quite a list of liabilities while Sen. Obama has compiled quite a list of assets.
Bottom line, I do NOT want to be held hostage by a campaign that was run by someone who couldn't keep their word and can't manage money.
