I am not talking about the "power of prayer". Do I think God is sitting there waiting to log in my next request? Is the quality of prayer different if I'm kneeling at the side of the bed asking God to get me that raise rather than standing over my dying daughters bed crying "Lord, what can I do?". Which one is the one being measured?
If you truly believe in God you are not expecting answers. God's will is what it is. I am talking about my beliefs not the thoughts of "us" all. When my mom talks about when two or more are in agreement, it is his will, I cry bullshit. Please tell that to my friends daughter who's cancer is spreading and doesn't have long. Oh and that is after my mom's God's Warriors meeting where they were all in "agreement" that the cancer will disappear.
It is superficial faith if it takes a miracle or tragedy to radically change your beliefs. You can name all of the statistics you want, I don't believe that science and religion are mutually exclusive. I'll leave that to the silly people.
"(they don't, we've checked)" Please link me to that study, I'm sure we'll all find your research facinating.
Oh, and please give me the solid proof about black holes. I'd love to see an answer that doesn't rely on "all the data points to" instead of real facts. That's a leap of faith.
There are mulitple ways of researching and finding the "proof" for any given idea. Look at science in the past, what they relied on as facts have been disproved with today's science. And I'm sure that much of what is "proven" today will be debunked in the future. There is a certain amount of faith in the scientific process.
I guess my main issue with all of this crap is that there is never a known certainty to any of it and it ticks me off when anyone says that it's "for sure" this way or that. DBuss sounds like idiot that likes to spout off with little actual thought behind it.
