Hillary a good foot soldier
by Louis Solnicki
I have just watched and listened carefully to Hillary Clinton's speech on CNN in which she has endorsed Barak Obama. Notwithstanding her defects of character which I discussed in earlier posts, I was impressed with how much she has grown over the past few months. Her speech was very eloquent, inspiring, hopeful and gracious. She included rhetorical flourishes in which she stated a current problem facing America followed by "And that is why we must elect Barak Obama". She also stated unequivically that she will "fight her heart out" for Obama. I was also pleased to see her recognize her women supporters and celebrate her achievement as a woman who ran an amazing campagne to become the Democratic nominee for the White House. She both successfully acknowledged the hard work of her women supporters while, at the same time, threw her support 100% behind Obama - a difficult balancing act. Hillarfy has certainly learned from Obama's example that a good speech that inspires and gives hope is so important on the campagne trail.
