Re: Why do Obama supporters seem determined to drive Hillary
by NJ Gal

Last post, then I am calling it a day.

Denial? No, I voted for Obama. I think you are wrong and just can't let it go.

I don't believe there is "a frenzy" to their support - they just identify with her. Calling it "frenzy" is an insult.

Why do they identify with her? Maybe it's because like them, she chose to work through a bad marriage; or maybe because like them, she is mocked as unattractive; or maybe because like them, she chose to put her husband's career first; or maybe they are sensitive to the sexism she has dealt with; or maybe she made them proud to be a woman, or maybe they think she is a good mother, or maybe they just like her.

I know more Clinton supporters than Obama supporters. They don't need us to validate what they feel. They don't want us to judge their choices. Clinton's loss is not the biggest tragedy in their lives. They are very disappointed, but they've seen presidents and other leaders assassinated, and buried their parents, kids and husbands. They know they will be able to move on in a few days.

Do they like Obama. No. Will they vote for Obama? Maybe.

So instead of moving on and accepting that they supported another candidate, let's just judge them and denigrate them and get our petty revenge. Maybe we should tell Clinton supporters to move to the back of the Democratic Party bus.
