I was thinking more along the lines of "I'll keep them in my thoughts, and will pray for them the next time I pray." I think it avoids the whole religious conversation and while being deceptive, isn't a lie - as long as you remember to pray for the person in the event you have some sort of religious revelation and do start praying...
