If I was an illegal immigrant, I'd expect to be deported or thrown in jail. Other countries do it that way. America has been very lenient, and thus, abused. The trangressions by the ICE are not vastly different from other law enforcement agencies, but I dont' see anyone implying we shouldn't enforce the law against murder. Persecute the bad actors, that's it.

I wonder if the people most disturbed about the improprieties in ICE enforcement just don't want immigration law at all. If that's the case, please say so directly. If not, why not suggest better enforcement mechanisms? How bout a national id card (as opposed to the i-9 system), more rigorous corporate sanctions, jail terms, etc.
