print version
by NYCortex
I love slate. I have been a big fan from its inception. I was even a paying member with a slate umbrella during that phase. I have introduced at least 100 people by this point, many of which have become loyal fans. I have seen and welcomed many of your changes, however, there is one change I would like to request that you reconsider.

A couple of years ago, you stopped emailing the entire contents of Today's Papers. Now the print version includes a flash advertisement box on the top right. I understand and respect the need for ad revenue. But to include this in the print css seems like going a bit far. It increases the cost of printing out today's papers to the point of making it not worth while. The amount of toner used to print out what ends up being a black box on the top right, does nothing for my feelings towards your sponsors. You could still present the ad on the website print page, and use a print css to remove it when someone actually prints the page. I would be happy to volunteer my time in modifying the css if it is simply a technical choice on your part. Please, reconsider.
