I'm not surprised; not any more. With all the noise about hanging chads and Diebold, no one in the media ever mentions the Electoral College. Which is rather strange, considering that the Electors directly choose the president, while we citizens merely choose the Electors.

Not that there's anything wrong with that, mind you. We choose our senators and congressmen; why shouldn't we choose our electors? (Our electors - odd to think of them as our electors, they never taught us that in school.) It's just that I'd like to choose one elector from my own district as I do my congressman.
