Now, I'm not a professional critic, and I don't want tell anyone how to do their job, but I have to agree with the masses in calling this review awful. Maybe hackneyed is more accurate. I get the point - for everybody who is pooh-poohing this movie, stop comparing it to the original and enjoy it for what it is. But the device Ms. Stevens employed was obnoxious. Also, she frequently takes a a superior tone in her reviews. Enough already! Take a objectivity from Scott Tobias and Co. over at the A.V.Club - what's in the movie? Hmm? Is it well written? Or maybe the writing is sub par but the action makes you forgive that? Is it visually engaging? This is what I want to know before I shell out $10.50 +.
