Why does the press not talk about the fact that the farm bill was as huge as it was because of a massive increase in foodstamps to deal with the rising costs of food.
You would think partizans on both the left and the right would totally jump on that, but they steer clear of it.
Even the uber right Heritage foundation's Brian Reidl, was jumping up and down on benefiting big agribusiness when really, it looks to me like (from what little decent reporting on it I can find) the real increase and the real issues the Republicans had with it have to do with foodstamps.
So, Explainer, why doesn't anyone talk about the farm bill increases as foodstamps? Are both sides afraid to bring it up? How would it play out if they did?
