Well, that's what happens when the press and the DNC declare a Hillary campaign-run news moratorium in Obama's benefit while half of the Democratic Party figures that the nomination process is still in play.
It's called 'shooting yourself in the foot for partisan political reasons,' but, hey, you and the DNC are going to wind up with Obama as the official nominee and so that's all right.
So is May the 20th still the date that you [as in your fellow journalists] will begin demanding that Obama declare himself the official winner? Also, is June the 3rd still the date on which the DNC actually is going to declare Obama the official winner whether or not they have finished bribing and blackmailing super delegates to 'pledge' to Obama and whether or not Hillary has agreed to concede the race?
Just checking on the state of these 'done deals,' between the press, the DNC, and Obama.
So, right before the nation's eyes, Obama and the DNC have been rigging the nomination process and the press doesn't report on any of it? So whatever you turn a blind eye to, isn't actually occuring, eh? Slick! That's sort of the way the press handled the lies about the Iraq War justification process when bribed with those embedded reporting slots. Instant ethical and moral blindness and the flushing of journalistic neutrality right down the old crapper. It's interesting to see that the press hasn't learned a damn thing from their past actions.
Before I forget again to ask, John, when are you and your fellow journalists going to point out to these legions of hysterical Obama fanatics that the most likely case scenario in the general election is for the Democratic Party to pretty much sweep the legislative branch with their politicians but lose the presidency to McCain?
Look, we both know that the average Frayster nattering on about politics is so ignorant regarding the subject that he or she makes G.W. Bush seem well-informed in comparison, but that a balanced [or counterbalanced] legislative branch and executive branch is the traditional state of affairs for this nation.
Oh, sure the naysayers will point out the times when there were democratically controlled House or Senate sub-branches while also a democratic run executive branch, but -- if they apply a bit of unaccustomed brain power to it -- they should recall that aside from, perhaps FDR no democratic president ever had his party totally in control of the legislative branch. There was always a brake applied or an effective [by way of numbers] republican spoiler presence.
Only twice during the latter half of the twentieth century until now has the nation been so dominated in both the legislative and executive branches that a Party could damn near write their own policy tickets and both times that was during republican administrations when Reagan and then G.W. Bush were able to either intimidate and sweet talk through his teflon coating or emotionally blackmail via the 9-11-01 emotional cachet. In both cases, the democratic legislators folded like spineless wimps.
The nominal state of affairs is that one Party manages to have enough strength [and enough backbone] to serve as legislative spoilers regardless of which Party is running the legislative branch.
A McCain presidency, with a true democratic dominance of the legislature, would restore that balance while an Obama presidency with a democratic dominance of the legislature would pretty much create the liberal FANATICS' disastrous version of the Ronald Reagan or G.W. Bush eras.
Now, this is of course what Left wingnut fanatics want, because they see Obama as the leader of a liberal new age of happiness and peace and prosperity -- just because Obama is airily promising that this will occur. But we know what happens when the fanatics gain control of their party and effectively dominate both the legislative and executive branches. Nightmare ensues regardless of noble intentions.
People know this on an almost instinctive level. This is one reason why things have pretty much always worked out as they have -- in order to keep a real balance of power between the legislative and executive branches.
Now, and immediately after the obscene disaster that occurred because the fanatical rightwingnuts of the Republican Party gained effective control of the Legislative, executive, AND judicial branches of government, the stupidity is going to be repeated by mainstream voters of either party with Obama?
Well, sure, it might very well happen, depending on the mood of the nation and whether or not Obama can actually sweet-talk the other half of the Democratic Party into voting for him after he and the press and the DNC just got through hosing them down. It might happen, but most likely it wont.
Toss out one rotten bunch of nut-wads only to replace them with a different brand that's demonstrating the same rancid fanatical nature? I don't see the mainstream making that mistake again, not quite so soon anyway.
Before the general election begins [first you and your partners in political slime have to finish stomping the life out of Hillary, but you ARE looking good to go in that regard] I predict that, instinctively, the mainstream of both parties will pretty much work it so that democrats dominate the legislative branch and McCain takes the presidency.
Well, that's what's been lurking at the back of my mind, John, in regards to this unfolding election cycle.
Oh and as for that other incidental detail; while you [journalists and pundits, that is], Obama, and the DNC are jointly struggling to destroy Hillary, remember that usually a shovel to the head kills even the most dangerous of snakes. So happy snake killing John!
